I generally don't like HDR very much -- too surreal for my tastes -- but love this shot, anyway, as supermarkets typically house such dull atmospheres. You've made a visually exciting image out of a usually unimpressive scene.
No, that's ok. For that price, I'll buy it. I downloaded photomatix a long time ago and used it just a little bit, but I was not able to come up with HDR shots with the quality of depth that I've seen in the HDR club. I did not have time to invest in learning it so deeply. Are there tutorials somewhere about how to do HDR? I'm interested to learn it, but thus far, the learning curve has been slow and steep, and much of my time diverted elsewhere in learning ceramics, apophysis and terragen.
holy cow. i LOVE this effect. so do you use photoshop for the HDR or some other program? then i assume you run some sort of layers and blend modes on each different exposure shot to give it a more...glossy cartoonish effect..or at least to help them blend more seamlessly
Actually for creating the HDR I'm using a software called Photomatix. I think it's the best software for HDR photography. And then sometimes I'm using a Photoshop plug-in called Lucisart (it helps you to get the cartoonish effect) and of course I'm using Photoshop for adjusting bright/conrast, color balance, levels, hue/saturation etc. It takes like 2-3 hours to create photo like this
